Plant City's Different Soil
Plant City sits on soil with higher clay and organic content than Brandon, thanks to generations of strawberry farming and agriculture. This changes everything about lawn care: clay holds moisture longer (less watering but more fungal disease risk), compacts more easily (aeration becomes critical), and responds differently to fertilizer (slower release but longer duration). I adjust my Plant City health program to account for these differences — it's not the same formula I use in Brandon.
Plant City's Character
Plant City is an actual incorporated city with its own government and utilities — including municipal water that may have different irrigation schedules than Hillsborough County's standard odd/even system. I program each Plant City customer's controller to match their specific water provider. The city ranges from historic downtown homes (early 1900s character properties needing renovation) to modern Walden Lake developments with standard builder landscaping. The annual Strawberry Festival defines the community's identity.
Tim's Eastern Route
Plant City is about 15 miles east of my Brandon base — the eastern edge of my standard service area. I serve Plant City on my eastern route days alongside Seffner and Dover. Same service quality, same-crew consistency, same pricing as my core Brandon customers. The 20-minute drive from Brandon is part of my regular weekly schedule.
